Perth Breakfast Recommendation: Mrs. S

So maybe Perth, Western Australia isn't big enough to qualify for one of my 'Big City' reviews, but it certainly is worth a mention when it comes to food. The small Summer Bay-esque city is booming with contemporary new restaurants and is really turning heads for its innovative and creative style.

One of the best parts about holidaying in Australia is the chilled out weekend brunch culture. Everyone knows the Aussies do coffee better then most, however they are also known for setting new standards when it comes to late morning dining.

Mrs. S popped up in Maylands with a fair bit of hype some time ago and the sweet little cafe has now made a name for itself offering a bit of a vintage tea party theme. Menus are cute, pegged into retro Little Golden Books, and decor is just the right amount of twee with it's miss matched antique cups and saucers and crockery.

I recommend Granny June's cornbread, crispy bacon, poached eggs, rocket and real maple syrup. The combination of the sweet, bitter and salty flavours is delicious. Add a side of ham hock baked beans, just because you can! Do visit Mrs. S if you are ever in Perth for something a little different and for a relaxing Saturday morning.
